Cathie obtained a Certificate in Fine Arts (fundamentals) from Sheridan College in 2000, and since then has attended many workshops including the Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting, the Southampton School of the Arts and Visual Arts Mississauga.
She enjoys painting the beautiful towns, farms and vistas of the Ontario landscape. Her recent work is mostly in oil, exploring the various rhythms and abstractions seen in nature. Water, and the patterns that reflections make, is a special interest.
Cathie has been also studying the old master’s techniques used in high realism, incorporating them into her landscape painting as well as in still life and the abstraction seen in nature.
Regardless of the techniques and mediums that she uses, Cathie’s goal is to engage the viewer to enter her paintings and have their own personal experience.
Her works have been exhibited at the opening of the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga in 1998, various shows with the Springbank Artists group, at ArtfullyYours@ the Novotel and in shows at Gallery Streetsville; the Loft Gallery, Clarksburg; Win Henstock Gallery, Oakville; the Arts Centre, Collingwood; Meaford Hall; the Living Arts Centre, Mississauga and in the Collingwood Art Tour. Cathie’s paintings are part of private and corporate collections in Canada and the US.
Cathie accepts commissions specializing in house portraits and vacation memories. For more information and to contact her visit
